TVR Car Club France

Hi Everyone

We've recently retired to live in our previous 'maison secondaire' near Angouleme and have a Cerbera 4.5 Red Rose. I am going to have to try and register it here along with a number of other vehicles over the next few months so you may well hear cries of angst from my wife and I, particularly as I only speak English so have rely on my wife's bit of French...... it may be a demanding time!

I've been a TVR owner for the last 20 years having had two Chimeras and an S1 prior to buying the Cerbera in 2002. However before I retired I was a garage proprietor, specialising in servicing and repairing TVR's, so I have a pretty good knowledge of most models - if anyone has a problem and wants to pick my brains I'd be willing to help.

It would be great to know if there are any other TVR's near Angouleme as we are both very enthusiastic about the mark so please get in touch.

- is it still possible to turn a regular cerbera to a red rose nowadays ?

Nice to know where we could have some troubles in France with our TVR... and maybe be saved (in summer I usually travel to South-West with my Chimaera)!

To answer your questions Peedeebee, the big differences are that the Red Rose Cerbera has a lightweight body shell, and the ECU has switchable engine mapping to allow change depending on what fuel is used and what engine performance is required. Also the hydra-track differential is standard on the Red Rose.

I'm not sure whether anybody is modifying ECU's to change the mapping on the engine but I think it would probably be possible to do that.

Yes, TVR is present in this country... with 2 chimaera 400 HC 1996, 1 vixen 1600 70, 1 vixen 2500 71, 1 S V8 and 2 S 2.9 L and I also believe 1 Tuscan and Cerbera.
I'm a member of the Angouleme Classic Roadster.
We organise walks and outings several times a year.

Beautiful Cerbera. I have just driven a Chimaera 500 (LHD) from Edinburgh to our base near Hautefort, which is not far from you down some lovely roads. Am also looking to import into France so happy to share findings. I'm planning a trip to Angouleme in the not too distant so will let you know, if you fancy a meetup.
