bonjour à tous;bon voila yann(le jeune)et captainwat (le vieux) s'etaient tenu tranquille depuis quelques temps et etaient devenu raisonnable!en fait on a fait un peu de plaçe dans l'entrepot (on a virè des planches....)du coup on a retrouvè une plaçe libre et forcement.......... enfin vous avez compris! l'eventuelle nouvelle fiançèe est une sublime taimar mais v 8 ?? de19 78 mieux que neuve! seul probleme etant de 1978 donc plus de trente ans elle peut passer en collection mais y a t il eu des taimar de 78 en 3500v8 rover ou sagit il d'une transformation???? avant de casser la tirelire j'aimerais avoir votre avis si c'est jouable pour la faire immatriculer(collection), je sais que wilfried restaure une taimar avec un v 8 mais??? la taimar qui nous interesse a le mot! merçi de vos reponses rapides on doit prendre le ferry cette semaine et la chim aimerait avoir une soeur.......

As-tu le modèle précis (M, S...). D'après Wikipedia il y a eu des 5000S en v8 aux US, et en 1973 une 3000M convertie par Barnet Motor Company pour Martin Lilley en Rover v8. Je ne suis pas spécialiste, et Wikipedia non plus cela dit.

...non la TAIMAR de WILFRIED c'était un 6 Turbo, pas un V8....donc ???

merçi de vos reponses, on a eu wilfried au tel il sagit d'une transformation! rien d'origine malheureusement= rien d'origine et pas assurable, dommage on abandonne mais on cherche autre chose en v6

bonjour et merçi alan, avec le recul on regrette ta jaune(1600) mais voila à l'epoque on etait pas pret! on est toutefois sur plusieurs pistes de 3000 mais comme on veut un chassis nickel on prend son temps! la taimar v8 anglaise etait vraiment extraordinaire mais c'est une transformation pas homologable! à priori elle doit developper plus ou moins 300 chevaux mini mais enfrançe en dehors de faire de la piste????????

It is a 1978 model, originally exported to the USA it was re-imported to the UK in 1989 by David Gerald Sports cars and was professionally converted back to right hand drive.  Mileage listed is since the conversion in 1989,unknown prior to that.
One owner since 1989:
Bosch distributer with electronic ignition, Replacement Weber carb, Stainless steel exhaust Alloy/turbo spec fuel tank.
Top and bottom end re-build of the engine (Ford Essex 3L V6), gas flowed and skimmed, stage 2 heads and valves (unleaded).
Re-cored radiator.
Short ratio steering rack with solid alloy mounts
2003 chassis off, new outriggers and diff cage, new windscreen supports and screen carried out by Adrian Venn (TVR Specialist), new suspension all round with fully adjustable shocks and springs.  Radiator electric fan conversion.  Pictorial build record available on CD.
Bodywork would benefit from a strip back and re-spray, some micro-blistering, paint cracking and scratches.
Rear window of hood has hardended and cracked.

merçi alan . tres belle voiture indeed! mais ce qu'on aime c'est la m ( coupè)car des cabriolets on en a suffisamment ! mais on a plus aucun coupè. il y a des modeles magnifiques chez racing grenn mais ils sont hypers preparès courses et impossible à homologuer en françe, la taimar anglaise qui va passez aux encheres en engleterre est une merveille, preparèe et restaurèe concours mais avec un v8 et des carbus holley, elle n'est pas estimèe tres chere, mais ce n'est plus une tvr d'origine et elle sera impossible à immatriculer en françe! mais on est pas iquiet, on finira par trouver ce que l'on recherche(on est deja sur la piste de deux pas trop loin de chez nous..... cordialement
