Re: 3000S in Bretagne
Votre TVR 1600M à été vendu ?
Re: 3000S in Bretagne
May soon be joined by another one on the continent.... Hope to have mine here within a few weeks....
Are any of those already here on normal French plates? Or are they voiture de collection only?
Considering leaving mine UK registered if the former is not possible.

Re: 3000S in Bretagne
if you want to stay Legal only "Collection" is possible.
You have about 2 or 3 months to get the French reg.
If you stay on English plates you need an address in England where you are Resident.
I have my TVR 1600M on collection + 2 Lotus Elans and imho i see no disadvantage. Only advantages e.g. "Contrôle technique" 5 Years.
If you stay on English plates you need to take the car back to England every Year for it's MOT.
Anyway what's the colour of your TVR 3000S ? Is it Silver like mine

Re: 3000S in Bretagne
Interesting. So no 3000S made it in here back then?
Carte gris collection has restrictions on where you can drive doesn't it?
Can you get a full carte gris on a Taimar do you know?
I haven't actually finalised the deal yet, but have one in place for when I finally manage to work out how to register the thing.... so I don't wont to say the colour quite yet.
The one you bought I considered, but it was too soon for me to act.
What is she like underneath the skin, a good one?
BTW your 1600M looks lovely...

Re: 3000S in Bretagne
i suggest you look at the FFVE website for info.
I think the car you are thinking about is the Red one, Silver one or the Blue one.
Be careful nothing is secret on the web

Re: 3000S in Bretagne
Certainly all 3 are interesting, but a Taimar has caught my eye, plus a turbo, but as I have always been very wary of them, a 3000S is still top of my list, but only just.....
Anyway, the garage is being modified for its new occupant this weekend, so we will see what shows up.... One thing is for sure, it will be an M series...
Thanks for the info on the FFVE site....
Two people around here have told me that you are restricted to your department or an adjacent one with a CG collection...... if this is true and I cannot get a normal CG all bets are off and a chim will be arriving which will please SWMBO.
Either that or I will change my residency status back to the UK.
Dave
Re: 3000S in Bretagne
the people that have told you you are restricted to the departments next to you are way way out of date.
Like i said look at the FFVE web site for upto date and correct info
Good reading and best of luck

Re: 3000S in Bretagne
Car need to be at leadt 30 years old.
Geographically speaking no limitation
Car will have to undergo every 5 years "controle technique" instead of 2 years for car with standard "carte grise"
This is it.

Re: 3000S in Bretagne
Thanks guys...
Just shopping around for insurance. Any recommendations?
I went to my normal broker who does my vehicles, house and business expecting a good deal, and it does not seem to be the case... Are there specialists in classic cars here in France?
Also they insist that it must be on a French CG within 30 days. Is this normal? Or even achievable?
