Hi Malcolm,
It depends if you've got an adresse in UK too or not.
It could be more interesting for you to stay with you're V5... (and no Mot for UK registered in foreign country...)
Some years ago "Generaly assurance" had good prices but at present "ICC" could be one of the cheapest... but you can contract High grade insurance only if you've got french V5.... for UK registered you'll have minimum insurance
best regards,

Hello Malcolm,
You´re welcome
I can suggest you to contact "ICC" insurances at Paris.., you can reach them here: Commercial ICC Victoria Madruga [commercial@icc-assurances.fr]
If you meet the requirements they ask for, it´ll be no problem.
With many other companies you surely will face difficulties as I supose your Chim is on RHD ...(was the case with mine).
Good luck

Hi Malcolm
Ive just insured my recently acquired Griff 500 (also RHD) with GAN. Agent is in Cannes and I can provide contact details if you require.
Whilst around 50% more expensive than the UK I decided to go down this route since the thought of having to try to resolve a potential claim with a UK broker made me feel it worth the difference.
Also assuming I manage to get the car registered in France I should be able to reduce this difference next year to just an extra 25% and then don't forget that in France you get breakdown assistance thrown in.
Enjoy your drive down. I used Transmanche ferries from Newhaven to Dieppe who offer particularly good rates on their crossings.
Best regards
Philip
