Le TVR a écrit :A 1998 350i
Is this a Tasmin car or a T350?

I know the Tasmin 350i was sold here, I saw 2 at TVR France in 1992.
Documents should exist but you should contact TVR to see for a Declaration of Conformity.

That will help with the DRIRE but I expect you will need to present the car to service des mines....

Thanks for getting back to me.
 Yes I'm stupid: I meant 1988 350i. My worry is that that the car I'm interested in has been modified and someone has put a 4l engine in it - a problem for the DRIRE?

I think someone has registered a 390 and the document stated it was a 350i !!

Maybe difficult if it is a 'modified' car though and there is no DoC from TVR.

importing cars to france

Message par tristanspeed »

Hello - I've had experience importing two cars to france - one a uk origin RHD Golf and the 2nd a Japanese origin RHD Mazda MX5 roadster - neither is a TVR of course, but I do know that it's possible, but takes a lot longer with a car that doesn't fit into a certain 'box' in french administration. I'm happy to explain all the procedures involved in importing if anyone wants to contact me - jeremywilks@tiscali.fr
Just out of interest, are a lot of the TVRs in France actually RHD then?

Jim,

Not being au fait with this technology, thought I'd try to make contact via this website.

Further to our previous correspondence, and to my caost, I can now give you a better idea as to what to expect (and the cost) - if you want more detail, please let me know. In short, you need to find your Department's DRIRE before you embark on the process.
