Re: how many 3000M in France
I was just thinking just to change the belt and it would be OK ! It would have been too easy ...
Well then Le chouan how did you screwed you home made pulley then ? Did you used the bolts from the timing cover ?
I think as says Alan I should use a standard pulley like underneath which for me would secure it with its sides.. Could you tell me how wide is the belt and the diameter of the pulley you made ? I'll check on internet what exists.
Why not fitting this ?

Re: how many 3000M in France
I've got a special made axle with the same thread as the timing cover screw so my axle replace an original screw.
The pulley you show is for "poly V" belt it's not ok for our case.
You can try std pulley like PSA TU engine ones but the adaptation will not be easy.
I choose this system because it's simple reliable and it work since august 2015 (more 10000km) with no problem.

Re: how many 3000M in France
yes sorry I didn't post the right picture...
OK so let's do it. it will be quicker as you already did it... And if it is working why change it?
Can you organise to make one for me? I don't know how long it would take, it would be great to have my are for le Mans historic the 23 of September..

Re: how many 3000M in France
Some information about two English words when you order from England.
If we say SCREW (or set screw) it has the full length with thread( filetage) as your photo.
If we say BOLT there is a part with no thread and is smooth which is better for a pivot.
Also if it is identified HT it is high tensile (acier trempe) which is nice and strong to be a pivot/axis .
Or CAPHEAD (tète pour clé hexagonal) very strong and high performance.
I hope this helps

Re: how many 3000M in France
I'll manage to find the blueprints.
Re: how many 3000M in France
That sounds good because i have 2 TVR's with the Essex V6. I don't think i have a problem at the moment but i don't want to look too close.
I'm sure for me it would be a very good idea to make one ready

Re: how many 3000M in France
I havent been able to find the blueprints...
I'm going to make a new one by measuring my TVR modification.

Re: how many 3000M in France
If you remove the flange from the Fan shaft it is possible to fit shorter Fan Belt from MK4 Zephyr or Zodiac. Direct replacement and Jockey wheel/Idler wheel not needed. Information from "Pistonheads" classic TVR Forum in England.

Re: how many 3000M in France
but the front cover is different.. the fan is not in the centre ..
Re: how many 3000M in France
Sorry yes you are right, i didn't see that.
But i have made contact with someone who may have some early covers with the unmachined blank boss to the right.
He will come back to me with details and prices in a few days.
When i have more info i will pass on the details.

Re: how many 3000M in France
I'm still waiting for details of suppy of secondhand covers with the fan boss to the right.
I just had a thought maybe it's possible after the Fan flange and shaft have been removed to machine away some of the boss.
That would mean less moving parts and use the mk4 Zephyr or Zodiac fan belt.
I hope now the Jockey has been fitted it is a sucess.
I look forward to seeing details with part numbers and a drawing so we can also do your modification.
Well done and bravo le LE CHOUAN
