Evenin' All
Hello All,
I always used think elderly people in nice sports cars like TVR's E Types etc were a real waste of a good car .
Well as I have now reached 70 I guess I am one of them as I have just purchased a Chimaera 400 !!and I am in the process of trying to register it in France (Haute Vienne 87) the major sticking point is the dreaded Certificate of Conformity any advice on that one would be gratefully received ! The car is '97 and doesn't have the prized E*11 prefix.I guess a visit to the DREAL is the next step ,what does that entail ?

Re: Evenin' All
Hi Mike, and welcome.
I bought a Griff 500 earlier this year, but I am 10 years behind you and it's my 7th TVR. Good luck with the registration, it's a PITA, to the extent that I cheated and got someone else to do it for me, just factored the cost into the total cost of the car. It's worth trying MF Cars in Belgium about a CoC, they provided mine. 00 32 9 282 31 36, tvrbelgium@skynet.be, the proprietor's name is Marc Minne.
Good luck, keep us up to date with progress.

Re: Evenin' All
Welcome
Sorry for my english
Your Chimeara doesn't have a European Reception (famous E11) but she has a French Reception if the VIN (or chassis number) begin with SDLDCC4P. If so, you should ask your DREALs to give you a "attestation d'identification" (it's the french name). With this paper, you will be able to register your Chimaera in France.

Hi I am in Dept 71 and any help with what you find would be appreciated as I have a restored Chim 500 that I would like to keep and enjoy France but keep hitting brick walls with getting it registered.

Hello there,
and welcome
If you'r still UK citizen
my advice is to keep your registration because of the narrow minded autophobic french administration rules...
Otherwize ...be very patient and be prepared to pay a lot of money...
